Japanese restaurants are been mushrooming in Ipoh in recent years. One of the highly regarded restaurant in town is A Lai I, which has been in business for 5 years.
). Situated same row as Sushi East and Friend's Cafe near Ipoh Garden East.
). The shop lot with a lot of wooden design, can accommodate more than 30 Japanese food cravers.
). Our meal starts with sushi of course. Unagi Maki, grilled eel rolled with sesame-filled Japanese rice. The roll is just right for a bite's size and it tasted good!
). Let's try the teppanyaki, where a salmon fillet and beef cutlets are pan-fried together with other vegetables. It is filled with buttery scent and literally melted in your mouth..
). A Japanese meal is never complete without a bento, which consists of unagi, rice, veggies, tempura, sashimi, fruits, Miso soup, Chawamushi and tempura sauce.
). Mixed tempura with two Ebiten and veggies, deep-fried until they are so crunchy, but tastes even better when dipped with the tempura sauce.
). Grilled Unagi comes out the tastiest of all of course!
). A Lai I has been rated as one of the best Japanese restaurant in Ipoh by numerous Ipoh Mali and wthout doubt it also has set a standard for Japanese cuisine, in Ipoh at least.
